1950 Flood Zone - Before the Floodway

The image to the right shows the flooded regions in Manitoba as a result of the infamous 1950 flood incident. Flooded portions are represented in blue shading. Manitoba showed remarkable vision and leadership years ago in the decision to construct the Red River Floodway. Thanks to this project, Winnipeg is expected to be spared once again from the full brunt of the Red's raging floodwaters.
