Welcome to the Flood Zone, a website developed to provide
information on the 1997 flood threat facing parts of Manitoba. This
site will be updated very regularly. We will be extremely grateful
for any information you can forward to us if it is relevant to the
flooding situation. Tell us if you need sandbaggers, and we'll post
these requests in the Sandbagging Volunteers Required section of
this site. Tell us how your family is preparing for the coming
floods and your stories will be incorporated in this site. If you
have photos you think would fit well into this site, please e-mail us and we'll
arrange to have them scanned and published here.
Winnipeg Residents

updates on how your family is gearing up for high river levels. If
you need help, post your request here and we'll post them here. You
may see some of our Winnipeg Website Correspondents in your area.
They roam the city on Mountain Bikes and are equipped with cameras
and tape recorders. Talk to one of them and we'll get your stories
on this website. E-mail
us if you want to join in on our flood reporting efforts! If you
have a camera, bike (or a car), and a pen and paper, we could use
your input. We are doing this as a public service, no one is getting
paid for this, but we will give credits where they are due!
Rural Manitoba Residents
